WWE Superstar Gunther is the current Intercontinental Champion in the company, but what are their upcoming plans for his title run?
According to a new report/rumour from WKRD Wrestling, it appears as though WWE want to have Gunther break a massive record during his IC reign.
“Roman Reigns isn’t the only superstar inching closer to history. We’ve learned that there are internal talks for Gunther to pass Honky Tonk Man’s all time historic Intercontinental championship reign. He’d officially break the record on September 6th” the site claimed.

It’s worth noting that these rumours from WRKD Wrestling are just that, rumours, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.
WWE, and Triple H in particular, are clearly massive fans of what the IMPERIUM leader can do inside and outside of the ring, so a record-breaking reign would certainly make sense.
We’ll have to wait and see exactly what the company decides to do, but don’t be shocked to see Gunther surpass the Honky Tonk Man’s record later this year.
