Samoa Joe To Be Revealed In Return To NXT Brand

Former WWE Superstar Samoa Joe has reportedly been brought back into the fold. Joe was released back in April, as part of the now almost bi-weekly run of releases from the company.

Several outlets have confirmed that Triple H specifically wanted to get Samoa Joe back as part of the NXT system. Joe had been a commentator on RAW prior to being released by WWE earlier this year.

With NXT General Manager William Regal stating that the brand may “need a change,” several fans have asked if Samoa Joe is set to become the new on-screen figurehead for the Tuesday night show.

Samoa Joe Returning To NXT

Whilst there’s no confirmation, it’s clear that NXT/Triple H do want to use the former TNA and ROH World Champion in an on-screen role.

It’s also not confirmed what sort of deal Joe has signed upon his return. Previously, Joe had a WWE main roster talent contract, so whilst he was working as a commentator he was on a huge sum, far more than the other talent at the booth.

It’s still not publicly known if/when Samoa Joe will be able to have another run in-ring. Joe was not able to perform for WWE near the end of his original tenure due to ongoing concussion related issues. The ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ has alluded to these in the past, but has not specifically said exactly how it has affected his ability to get cleared by WWE officials to perform.

As of writing, WWE have not confirmed if Samoa Joe will be returning to NXT television this week or if it is being held for the likes of an NXT Great American Bash event down the line.
