It was recently confirmed on WWE’s The Bump that Riddle would no longer be wrestling Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam this Saturday night.

Rollins took to Twitter to confirm to apologise to fans following the announcement: “For anyone who purchased a ticket to #SummerSlam hoping to see me in action, I apologize.

“I did everything I could over the last 6 months to earn my spot on this show, but some things are out of my control. Thank you for always singing my song. They’ll hear ya someday.”

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that WWE is still looking to give Seth a match, with Triple H replying to his frustrated tweet by saying “I hear you.”

‘They moved it [Rollins vs Riddle] to Clash at the Castle for whatever reason. That’s what they did” Meltzer revealed on the podcast.

“And I got the impression from that tweet that it’s like Triple H kind of babyfacing himself where he takes away a match and you’re all disappointed. Well, injury takes away the match, although it’s a worked injury. So, he comes and saves the day and, you know, announces a match’¦

“I guess they’ll announce a match on Friday’s SmackDown or tomorrow or whatever. Seth Rollins was talking about the heel is going like, ’˜I worked so hard, I deserved to be on this show, and I really want to wrestle on this show.’

“That was quite the babyface tweet, too. So, yeah, it’s one of his first moves. I guess he is doing this and the other big move” Meltzer concluded.
