Steve Austin offered ‘enormous’ money for match against top star

Last updated

WWE has made a huge money offer to Stone Cold Steve Austin for a match.

The Texas Rattlesnake competed in a match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. Since then, it has been said that Austin is open to wrestling again.

After the former world champion posted some workout videos on social media, rumours have picked up about his return to the ring.

Fightful Select recently provided a big update on the situation. According to them, the company approached the Attitude Era legend with an offer to face Roman Reigns in a WrestleMania match:

“Fightful Select has learned that a pitch was made internally for a “huge opponent” for Stone Cold Steve Austin, which Fightful Select was told was Roman Reigns. We’re told at the very least, Austin’s camp was approached with the possibility of it happening, which was said to have been for “enormous” money.”

Roman Reigns was originally rumoured to face The Rock at WrestleMania 39 but those talks have slowed down in recent times.

It’s unknown whether Austin has replied to this offer. The site had previously reported that Austin was approached with another deal in Summer 2022 but it wasn’t as appealing from a financial standpoint.
