The Rock could end up making more than one PPV appearance for WWE next year.
The Hollywood star revealed cancelled plans for his WrestleMania 39 match with Roman Reigns earlier this month. Hours after, he made his return to the WWE programming taking part in a segment with Austin Theory and Pat McAfee.
While the SmackDown segment may have been a one-off thing, it has started speculations about The Great One’s future in the company. There is a strong belief that the plans for a match between him and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania may come to fruition next year.
The Rock in Australia?
Now latest reports have suggested that WrestleMania may not be the only PPV appearance for The Rock on the road to WrestleMania 40. The West Australian speculates that The Rock could compete at Elimination Chamber in Perth, on his way to the Grandest Stage of Them All:
“Adding to the speculation is the fact that WWE was recently sold to Endeavor. There is a strong suggestion the company, which also owns the UFC, wants its first Wrestlemania in charge to be an absolute showstopper. As a result there is talk The Rock might very well wrestle in Perth at the Elimination Chamber in February on his way to Wrestlemania to face Reigns two months later.”
Elimination Chamber 2024 is set to take place in Optus Stadium from Perth, Australia on February 24 next year. The two night WrestleMania 40 will follow from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 6 and 7.
