Welcome to The Wrest Is History! In this column we look at back a significant event from this day in Pro Wrestling history. June 20, 2010 was the date for the first ever (and likely last) WWE Fatal 4 Way pay per view event.
The show featured THREE Fatal 4 Way matches on the card, that’s right, THREE.
WWE have been using the gimmick PPV concept for quite some time, but not much can really match up to the pointlessness of a Fatal 4 Way PPV event. There’s a reason WWE Triple Threat was never a PPV concept…
The show is really remembered for one really good match between Evan Bourne and Chris Jericho, ironically both now members of the AEW roster.
The main event is star studded, with John Cena defending his WWE Championship against Sheamus, Randy Orton and Edge, but it wasn’t much to write home about.
