WWE Superstar Samoa Joe recently made his on-screen return on NXT. The former United States Champion had been released from his WWE contract earlier this year, and Triple H was quick to ensure that Joe was brought back into the fold on Tuesday nights.
Triple H reportedly made the call to Samoa Joe hours after he was released from his WWE contract, saying that he wanted him back on NXT in the enforcer role that he now has alongside William Regal.
Speaking to the New York Post, Triple H would also confirm that plans akin to what is now happening with Joe have always been in the works.
Triple H on bringing back Samoa Joe
“It was something that we were already talking about anyways,’Â Triple H began, discussing Joe being part of shaping WWE’s future.
‘What people tend to focus on, because it’s the visual, is the in front of the camera, the character side of it” HHH continued.
“But what Joe and I have been talking about for a long period of time, before COVID, probably from the time he started in WWE in general [is] that’s he’s a very smart guy that’s very business-oriented” Triple H added.
“He has a level head, and all those things and [we discussed,] ’˜What is the future like and how can he help build the future,’ and he was enamored with the other side of the business and what we do’ ‘The Game’ would conclude.
It was confirmed recently that Samoa Joe has still not been cleared to compete in-ring for NXT, however he is working to get back as a competitor to go up against the likes of Pete Dunne, Karrion Kross and Johnny Gargano.
