WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus recently revealed that she was in talks with TNA following her initial retirement from pro wrestling.
Speaking to ET Canada, Stratus revealed that the company, now known as IMPACT Wrestling, contacted her about coming in for their Knockouts division.
“There was a point where TNA had reached out to me and they wanted ’” it happened to be around the time when there was a new women’s championship was being introduced,’ Stratus began.
“It was around that time and it was a storyline pitch like that because it was like, ’˜Hey, women are a viable part of the show and we would like you to be a part of it'” the WWE of Famer continued.
Trish Stratus TNA offer
Obviously Stratus would not take TNA up on the offer, but several of her colleagues in WWE, such as Mickie James, did.
James is still a prominent member of the IMPACT roster, with Hardcore Country making history during this year’s Royal Rumble. James is the first IMPACT Knockouts Champion to enter the Rumble match, and there’s a good chance we won’t see something like that again in WWE.
It’s a shame that we never got to see Stratus in the Knockouts division, but at least she made some sporadic returns to WWE over the years.
