The world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and professional wrestling often intertwine, with athletes transitioning between the two. Recently, the rumour mill has been buzzing with whispers of WWE superstar Ronda Rousey making a sensational return to the UFC. However, UFC President Dana White has firmly dismissed these speculations.

Following Ronda Rousey’s latest WWE match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam, the MMA community and fans began to speculate about her potential return to the UFC.

Dana White, however, was quick to quash these rumours. In a conversation with Sports Illustrated, he stated unequivocally that there’s “no shot” of Rousey making a comeback to the UFC.

Dana White on The Daily Mail’s Controversial Report

Adding fuel to the fire, the Daily Mail recently cited a close confidant of Rousey, claiming that the former MMA champion is considering one last fight in the UFC, possibly at the much-anticipated UFC 300 event next year.

This report intensified the discussions and speculations around Rousey’s potential return.

White’s Response to the Daily Mail’s Claims

Addressing the media after Dana White’s Contender Series, White didn’t mince his words. He labelled the Daily Mail’s report as a “crock of s**t” (via a tweet from Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports).

Reiterating his earlier stance, he denied for the second time that Rousey is eyeing a UFC return.

White emphasised Rousey’s current life choices, stating, “Ronda’s having kids! Ronda built this whole thing that’s going on with the women here, then her dream was to go to the WWE. She achieved everything she aimed for in the WWE, made a significant amount of money, and has since moved on with her life.”

Rousey’s Last UFC Appearance

For those unfamiliar with Rousey’s MMA journey, she last stepped into the UFC octagon in December 2016 at UFC 207.

It was a challenging fight for Rousey, where she faced a first-round defeat against Amanda Nunes. Since then, she has not expressed any interest in returning to the MMA world, focusing instead on her professional wrestling career and personal life.

Speculations Around Other WWE Superstars

Interestingly, Dana White also recently addressed another rumour circulating in the MMA community. This time, it was about Brock Lesnar potentially competing at UFC 300.

The world of MMA and WWE is no stranger to such speculations, given the history of athletes transitioning between the two.
