Former WWE NXT Superstar and IMPACT performer Chelsea Green has officially joined Ring of Honor. The star who is engaged to Matt Cardona appeared during the Best In The World PPV this weekend and confirmed that she will be part of the Women’s World Championship tournament.
Chelsea Green will be facing Mandy Leon in the opening round of the tournament which also includes the likes of Allysin Kay, Angelina Love and Holidead.
According to a recent report from Fightful Select, the agreement to bring Green into the company was confirmed well over a month ago. Chelsea Green also reportedly had to get clearance from WWE to appear on the PPV before her 90-day non-compete clause had finished.
Chelsea Green joins Ring of Honor
Chelsea Green was released from WWE on April 15, so with the previous reports of former WWE talent asking for their non-competes to be rescinded it looks as though Green was one of the talents who made a request.
Green is also slated to be appearing on ROH programming in a commentary position, but as of right now she does not technically have a contract with Ring of Honor.
There’s a good chance that ROH will get a deal in place for Green once her 90-day clause with WWE is up, but as of now they appear to be working on a handshake per appearance deal.
