It has been reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will be heading to the Performance Center this week to ‘scout’ talent on the NXT brand and beyond.
McMahon is apparently looking to replenish the main rosters of RAW and SmackDown, with both brands suffering from constant repeat matches and injuries over the past year.
As previously reported, Karrion Kross, Bronson Reed, Scarlett and Shotzi Blackheart have all been at the WWE Thunderdome recently to ‘audition’ for the main roster, with all four having taken part in WWE Main Event tapings.
Vince McMahon at Performance Center
It’s not been confirmed exactly who or what Vince McMahon is looking for at the Performance Center, although recent mandates for talent signings have been for early to mid twenties athletes.
WWE has a major issue with age on the main roster, with the average age being far higher than previous years and no indication of where the next ‘megastar’ is coming from, if even there is someone who can rise to those heights.
The current crop of talent in NXT is strong in the sense that they’re well tenured and have established fanbases. The likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole are beyond overdue a move to RAW or SmackDown, but is this what Vince McMahon is looking for? History indicates that maybe it isn’t, and Triple H appears to have a different mandate than McMahon does for talent.
It has also not been confirmed if McMahon will be at the PC beyond this week, although we will report on this as and when the information is available.
