Former WWE, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo recently commented on the rumours that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be returning to WWE.

Rumours have stated that Austin is set to face Kevin Owens at the Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania 38.

Russo however believes that Austin should be going to the top of the pile and getting his return match against the WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.

Speaking on his Sportskeeda podcast, Russo claimed that Reigns is at the right level for a return the size of Steve Austin.

‘First of all, it would be Roman Reigns [as Steve Austin’s opponent]. Sorry bro, if Austin’s gonna come back, he’s gonna come back for all the marbles, Winner Take All, and it’s the old ’˜If you’re gonna beat me, then you’re gonna have to kill me bro'” Russo began.

“It’s bleeding during the Bret match. It’s all that. Could that story be built? Absolutely, one thousand percent, and you would believe Austin is going to do it” the former WWE writer concluded.
