There is reportedly set to be a big change for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the ‘Season Premiere’ episode of the show.

According to a new report from PWInsider, Wade Barrett will be in the commentary booth alongside Michael Cole for the show.

“Wade Barrett is slated to be at tomorrow’s Friday Night Smackdown taping in Worcester, MA PWInsider has learned” the site began.

“Barrett has been part of the NXT broadcast team since his return to WWE and while it has not been confirmed at this point numerous sources have said that he will be calling the show along with Michael Cole” PWI added.

WWE SmackDown Commentary Team

As noted by PWInsider, Barrett has been part of the NXT commentary team for some time, so this is an interesting move from the company.

It is not confirmed if Triple H and the creative team are looking at bringing Barrett to SmakcDown full-time, but he certainly has the credentials at this point.

There are also rumors that Legado Del Fantasma will also be making their main roster debuts tomorrow night as part of the Season Premiere show from the blue brand.
