Paige was one of the most popular WWE Superstars in recent memory. She won the Divas Championship twice and was a fan favourite. However, she abruptly left WWE in early 2018, and her future is currently up in the air.
What happened to Paige? We’ll take a look at her career thus far, and explain why she was unable to compete following an accident at a WWE House show.
Paige was born Saraya-Jade Bevis on August 17th 1992, in Norwich, England. Paige’s parents are professional wrestlers, and she began training for the ring at a very young age. Knight made her wrestling debut at the age of 13 and competed all over Europe.
In 2011, Paige signed with WWE and made her debut on NXT later that year.
Paige won the Divas Championship in her first match on the main roster. Paige quickly became one of WWE’s most popular Superstars and was a mainstay on WWE Raw and SmackDown.
However, Paige ran into some trouble in late 2017. Paige was injured at a WWE House show in Nassau Coliseum on December 27th. Paige injured her spine and neck during a match involving Sasha Banks and she was unable to compete following the injury.
WWE announced that Paige was taking time off to recover from the injury, but it soon became clear that Paige would not be returning to WWE. In early April of 2018, Paige announced her retirement from professional wrestling due to the neck injury she suffered.
Paige WWE Return
It’s not clear if Paige will be making her return to the company at any point in the future, but it is far more likely that we will see her soon as Superstars such as Edge have been able to return from a similar injury.
