WWE veteran and former Tag Team Champion Charlie Haas recently spoke to the It’s My Wrestling Podcast. Haas discussed several topics during the interview, including why Vince McMahon apparently ‘hates’ tag team wrestling.

‘Here’s what we were told towards the end when we [Haas and Shelton Benjamin] split up,’ Haas began. ‘Vince doesn’t like tag team wrestling. He looks at it as an added expense, as paying for an extra guy on the road, extra guy in the hotel room.

“He really doesn’t like it and he changed a lot of it over the years. When you’re talking about 2002 with the tag teams, I think that was a great time” Haas continued.

“From a business perspective, this does actually make sense! A main event calibre singles star is just one person, whereas a main event tag team means you’re dealing with 4 people in the top spot, potentially costing more altogether.”
