A top WWE Superstar is apparently not set to work the WWE Backlash Premium Live Event due to an injury sustained at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
Speaking to several of our sources, we were able to discover that Finn Balor is not currently scheduled to be part of the card from Puerto Rico.
As we reported earlier today, Balor is currently written in to be part of a six-man tag team match on RAW against the LWO, and the report regarding his Backlash status came from our investigations of that.
“Probably limited role in the match [on WWE RAW tonight], was told he wouldn’t be working Backlash” was one of the reports received from a source.
Finn Balor WWE Backlash 2023 Status
We have not yet been able to find out exactly why Balor has not been factored into the card yet, however it is extremely likely to be related to his pre-WrestleMania injury and the horrendous cut that he got during the match itself.
Balor actually took to Instagram after his match against Edge to reveal that he almost didn’t make the Mania card, writing: “On March 10th Ep of Smackdown I sustained a grade 2 calf tear. Normal recovery time is estimated at 6-8 weeks. Hold my beer! With just 3 weeks & 2 days to Wrestlemania WWE medical team ’˜threw the kitchen sink at it’ & with some careful planning, long days of rehab and a lot of swear words we made it back in time with a day or two spare!”
