Vince McMahon recently confirmed that he had retired from WWE, and now a ‘power grab’ is expected to take place backstage in creative.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation now that McMahon is heading out of the company.

‘As far as overseeing all creative, that’s a really interesting question” Meltzer would begin on the latest version of the podcast.

“There’s going to be a power grab. Now, tonight’s show was Bruce [Prichard] and Ed Koskey, but Paul Levesque was also there” Meltzer added.

“And I guess he [HHH] was, from what I gather, he was the closest to being Vince McMahon as far as, he was the overseer tonight [for SmackDown].

“Whether that was because he was there and Stephanie was there’¦ Whether he’s going to be going on the road to these shows every Monday and Friday, that could be asking a lot.

“But, you know,  I mean hopefully, his health is like 100% or as close to 100% as it’s going to be, but that’s still asking a lot, you know, for a guy who, you know, nearly died” Meltzer concluded.

It will certainly be interesting to see who will be running WWE creative going forward, with Triple H working as the Head of Talent Relations going forward.
