WWE recently confirmed that there would be some major changes to the commentary teams on both RAW and SmackDown.
According to a new report from PWInsider, we now know why the soon to be parent company of WWE, Endeavor, wanted to make the move happen.
“For those who have asked why WWE decided to make changes this coming week to their broadcast teams, we are told by sources that a big part of the reason were the requests by Endeavor and WWE’s broadcast partners to have Michael Cole as the face of the product going forward” the site reported.
It’s pretty shocking that Endeavor wants to have Cole as the Face/Voice of the product going forward, as it was believed that WWE wanted to start building towards the future in the likes of Kevin Patrick.

WWE Commentary Changes
Apparently, Kevin Patrick is “extremely well-liked,” but the company wanted him to get more seasoning by placing him alongside Cole and Corey Graves on SmcakDown going forward.
It was also confirmed by PWInsider that this “shouldn’t be seen as a demotion as much as a step back for long-term gains” for Patrick and his role as a commentator for the company.
