The WWE Royal Rumble 2022 event may be getting a major main event for the Universal Championship, with Roman Reigns expected to defend against Drew McIntyre.

Currently, advertisements for the house shows following the WWE Day 1 PPV event has McIntyre teaming with The New Day against The Bloodline.

The New Day vs The Usos will be the match at the Rumble itself and McIntyre vs Reigns will be the main event for the Universal Championship.

The expectation right now is that Reigns will retain the title and move on to a WrestleMania 38 rematch against Brock Lesnar with the gold on the line.
