WWE “saving” Roman Reigns title defences for Stadium shows

WWE is reportedly looking to save big Roman Reigns title defences for their stadium show events down the line.

The major tag team title unification match for next week’s WrestleMania Backlash event was changed to a 6-man tag team match, with Roman and Drew McIntyre joining the fray.

According to a recent report on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer appears to be of the impression that it will be only the bigger shows where Reigns will defend his Unified World title.

“That’s really interesting. That really weakens the card, because I thought the unification was the strongest thing they had on the card” Meltzer noted on the show.

“Really, now, that would put Charlotte and Ronda’¦ Roman and Drew I guess would then be to set up for the stadium pay-per-views, then” Dave added.

“Which makes sense to me. Maybe the Cardiff or maybe Vegas or whatever. So, they basically, are on this pay-per-view, basically throwing away this pay-per-view. That’s what it is to me’¦” Meltzer concluded.
