In a world where social media has become a significant part of our lives, it’s disheartening to see the negative impact it can have on individuals, particularly public figures. One such incident involved a WWE superstar, who felt compelled to deactivate his Twitter account due to online abuse.

The star in question is none other than Ridge Holland, who found himself at the receiving end of a barrage of negative comments from so-called “fans.”

The Incident That Sparked the Controversy

The incident that led to the online abuse occurred during a SmackDown episode aired on July 14th. During a match between Pretty Deadly and the Brawling Brutes, Elton Prince of Pretty Deadly suffered a separated shoulder.

The injury resulted from an awkward landing after a pounce from Holland. Following the incident, Holland took to Twitter to clarify the situation and wish Prince a speedy recovery. However, the response from some fans was far from supportive.

Holland’s Response and Temporary Exit from Twitter

In his initial tweet, Holland explained, “To set people straight before they get all pissy! It wasn’t the belly to belly…it was a wonky landing from the pounce. Out of my control. Wishing @EltonPrince_PD a speedy recovery.”

Despite his clarification and well wishes, Holland was met with a wave of abuse, including death threats. This wasn’t the first time Holland had experienced such a reaction.

He had previously received similar threats following an injury to Big E during a SmackDown episode in March 2022. The severity of the abuse led Holland to deactivate his Twitter account the following day.

The Return to Twitter

Despite the negativity, Holland made the decision to return to Twitter. His comeback was marked by a simple tweet showing him giving Kit Wilson a Powerslam.

The return was met with mixed reactions, but it signified Holland’s resilience in the face of adversity. As of now, there is no further update on Prince’s injury, but fans and fellow wrestlers alike are wishing him a swift recovery.
