WWE Opinion: Harland should’ve debuted with Eva Marie

Harland, real name Parker Bordreaux, made his official NXT 2.0 debut appearance a few weeks ago. This week’s NXT 2.0 also saw Harland attack NXT Champion Tomasso Ciampa before having an…interesting moment with Joe Gacy.

When Bordreaux first appeared on the scene, he was being tipped for massive success in the company, which might still happen, but boy, they could’ve gone about it a different way.

Just compare the image that headlines this article to what WWE have Harland doing on NXT 2.0; pardon the pun, but he and Eva Marie look absolute FIRE together.

Perhaps the reason that WWE decided to change his name to Harland, shave his head and have him adopt this strange new character is a way to stop people from comparing him to Brock Lesnar. But realistically, what’s wrong with being compared to Brock Lesnar!?

Parker Bordreaux WORKS as a pro wrestling name, but WWE decided they wanted him to adopt this Harland moniker, which is fine. Still, you’re missing out on a significant opportunity by just presenting him with his real name and as a straight-ahead monster.

There was even a perfect storyline to bring Eva Marie back to NXT; the Evalution decided that she didn’t want to put her time behind the likes of Doudrop, so she returned to NXT to bring a monster to the masses.

As I said, WWE will probably still push Harland well on the developmental brand, and he will likely be called up to the main roster at some point in the next year or two. But look again at the image on this article and tell me that Parker and Eva Marie don’t just look PERFECT as a duo.
