It appears as though a major and unlikely Championship match could be taking place at SummerSlam 2023 from Detroit in August.
According to a new report/rumour from The Wrestling Blog, it appears as though the Men’s NXT Championship could be defended at the show.
“Carmelo might defend his NXT title at summer slam” the account claimed on Twitter this week.

It’s worth noting that these rumours from The Wrestling Blog are just that, rumours, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.
This isn’t the first report we’ve heard regarding some sort of NXT involvement at the event, and it would correlate with the rumours that WWE is looking to truly establish NXT as a third brand in the company.
We’ll hopefully be able to get more on this in the coming days and weeks, although it probably won’t be made official by WWE until at least early August.
