Christian and WWE In-Ring Future Revealed

Former WWE Superstar Christian returned to in-ring action this past Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Captain Charisma has not been in action for WWE for quite some time; and he announced anti-climatically that he had retired from wrestling.

It was quite the reverse from what happened to Christian’s tag team partner Edge. The Rated R Superstar originally retired back in 2011. The winner of this year’s Royal Rumble originally retired back in 2011 due to an ongoing neck/spinal injury; with a big swansong on Monday Night RAW and inclusion on several WWE shows since then.

Christian Returns

Christian didn’t receive this treatment and, almost fittingly, he returned to the ring on Sunday in the WWE ThunderDome without any fans in attendance. Compare this to the ovation Edge received at the Rumble 2020? It’s light years apart. Whilst this wasn’t anyone’s fault? It’s almost like fate HAD to do this to the far more underrated member of E&C.

It turns out that Christian’s return on Sunday wasn’t actually just a one-off appearance. PWInsider recently confirmed that he’s working a part-time schedule with WWE going forward, much like his compatriot Edge. It has not been confirmed at this point whether Christian will be teaming with Edge in any capacity, although that is certainly something that fans would like to see going forward.
