WWE Superstar and former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan recently revealed which Superstars he would like to face in WWE.

Speaking to  WWE on BT Sport, Bryan would discuss some of the potential bouts he would like in the near future. ‘One person that I’d like, just because he can do so many incredible things, that I’d like to wrestle? It’s Ricochet. Same thing with Apollo Crews, I think Apollo Crews is infinitely talented.’

Although the pair recently faced off in a Gauntlet Match on SmackDown, Daniel Bryan would also state that he wants another bout with Shinsuke Nakamura. ‘One of the guys who’d I’d really like to have a [feud with]? Something where we can get stuck in, that I’ve never had the opportunity to do? Shinsuke Nakamura.’

We’ve seen Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura face off in the past in WWE; however for many this was a long awaited dream match and WWE haven’t really pulled the trigger and given the fans the match that they’ve longed for.

Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura

The hype surrounding a potential Bryan vs Nakamura match would begin back when Nakamura was still with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Shinsuke Nakamura was the IWGP Intercontinental Champion at the time when the bout was first proposed, interestingly, Daniel Bryan was the WWE IC Champion, with fans calling for a Champion vs Champion inter-promotional bout.

Speaking in 2015, Daniel Bryan himself said that he wanted the match. ‘I pitched this’¦ I want to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura.  He and I lived together for a brief bit in Santa Monica, California, and we’re (WWE) doing a tour of Japan soon.  And I thought, ’˜Oh, what a great inter-promotional thing it would be if I were to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura,’ but I don’t know if anybody really bought that idea.’

The bout never happened, but fans were excited when Shinsuke Nakamura would sign for NXT back in 2016. The dream match was closer than ever, but by the time Nakamura would get to the main roster? Daniel Bryan would be on his way to retirement due to head injury complications.

With Daniel Bryan then returning from injury? The first match with the two men included was a dark bout for 205 Live. AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan & Jeff Hardy would defeat Shinsuke Nakamura & The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus). Since then? We haven’t seen the two in a singles match on television; the closest we got was the Gauntlet match on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Will we finally get the dream match we’ve wanted for at least the last 6 years? Hopefully.
