WWE’s Royal Rumble event will be taking place on Sunday 31st January. The annual event is arguably the second biggest in WWE’s year, behind WrestleMania.
The Rumble match itself sees 30 Superstars enter with the last remaining performer getting a shot at a World Championship at WrestleMania in March/April. As is usually the case, Sky Bet have listed their odds early and whilst there’s some expected names near the top (Keith Lee, Big E, Goldberg etc), there’s also the classic long odds that always throw up a laugh.
The biggest outside name is arguably former Norwich City player Grant Holt. Whilst former Premier League player Holt has wrestled in the past for WAW in Norwich? There’s not much of chance that he’s going to be heading to Florida for the Rumble match next month.
Here’s some highlights from the best outside odds:
- Vince McMahon – 250/1
- Grant Holt – 200/1
- Mason Ryan – 150/1
- Rusev (now signed to AEW) – 100/1
- Conor McGregor – 50/1
Yes, you did read that right. Grant Holt the former Premier League player is apparently more likely to win the Royal Rumble than Vince McMahon. Happy New Year everyone!
