WWE RAW Superstar Matt Riddle has reportedly signed a new contact with WWE. The former mixed martial artist initially signed back in 2018 and his contract was apparently coming up for renewal in August 2021.
Fightful Select recently confirmed the news, saying that Riddle was initially offered a deal that he was not ‘interested in.’ WWE then renewed the terms and they were hoping Riddle would sign before the end of 2020. Fightful then also confirmed that the former UFC fighter signed last week, although it has not been revealed how long the deal will last for.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently claimed that Riddle had signed in the region of $400,000. “WWE is working on locking down Riddle, whose contract is up in August. It’s said he’s pretty much agreed to terms for a three-year deal at $400,000 per year guaranteed plus $50,000 for every show in Saudi Arabia.”
Again, it is not confirmed if the terms outlined by WON is exactly what Riddle has signed for. It may be that this was the initial deal that Riddle turned down. The fact that Riddle has now apparently signed for a reported further three years is big news for the company; who appear to be lining up the ‘Original Bro’ for a major role on WWE programming.
