Welcome to The Wrest Is History! In this new column we look at back a significant event from this day in Pro Wrestling history. February 23rd marked The Main Event show from Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan. The airing of the show featured two behemoth matches between some of WWE’s (then WWF) biggest Superstars.

The Main Event included a WWF Championship match between Hulk Hogan and Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage in a rematch from their WrestleMania V main event. The Ultimate Warrior was also in action, defending his Intercontinental Championship against Dino Bravo.

Later that year Hogan and Savage collided at WrestleMania 6 with both Championships on the line in a Winner Take All match. It was one of Warrior’s best matches in the company, sitting alongside the ‘Mania 7 match against Randy ‘Macho King’ Savage.
