NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano successfully defended his title at the NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day event. There was a lot of hype surrounding this match, as it is somewhat of a dream ’˜juniors’ bout. Gargano began to enter the match with The Way before Dexter Lumis kidnapped Austin Theory.

This was a fantastic bout, with KUSHIDA constantly working on Johnny Gargano and his previously arm to set him up for the Hoverboard Lock. The match ended when Johnny Gargano hit One Final Beat to get the pinfall win.

Triple H on Johnny Gargano

Triple H took to Twitter to applaud the two men that put on the instant classic. The Game wrote “it is @JohnnyGargano’ consistency that make matches like tonight’s #NXTNATitle match so special. @KUSHIDA_0904 has lived up to all the fanfare he came to #WWENXT  with. These two in the ring … magic!!!! #NXTTakeOver.”
