CM Punk in AEW Book Part 1

CM Punk had one of the most dramatic and intriguing runs in the history of pro wrestling when he joined AEW in 2021, but did the Straight Edge star actually prove to be a net positive for the company in his first run to the AEW Championship? You will find out right here.

The book covers CM Punk’s run in the company from his debut on Rampage to his first AEW Championship win at Double or Nothing 2022, when he beat Hangman Page for the title.

As someone who watched wrestling pretty extensively from 2000 onwards (with a little break between 02 and 04), I can honestly say that CM Punk is a large part of the reason that I remained a fan throughout the doldrums of the late 2000s into the early 2010s (especially in WWE).

It wasn’t just that I was a fan of his in-ring work, CM Punk resonated with me in a way that I didn’t feel like a pro wrestler had done in the past, with his love of punk and hardcore bands like Rancid, Against Me! H2O and Minor Threat as well as his DIY ethic hitting home to a jaded fan in the UK. So if you’re interested in checking out the new book I really appreciate it!
