It was recently confirmed that Cody Rhodes had run down his AEW contract, with the EVP of the company having originally signed in 2019.
Fans have been speculating whether or not this means that Rhodes will be joining WWE, specifically with the Royal Rumble match coming up at the end of the month.
From what we have heard, this is all part of a storyline with Rhodes and AEW, and the All Elite star will not be heading back to WWE.
Whether this could all be a rouse remains to be seen, but it’s extremely unlikely that we will see Cody Rhodes in a WWE for at least the next few years, if ever.
