NBA legend and one-time AEW performer Shaquille O’Neal recently spoke to Pop Culture. Shaq discussed a number of topics during the interview, including the table bump he took in the match against Cody Rhodes and who he wants to face inside of an AEW ring.

“I’m made of steel. There’ll be no broken bones [and] it was actually fun” Shaquille O’Neal began, discussing the huge table bump that he took during the mixed tag team match between Cody Rhodes, Red Velvet, Jade Cargill and himself.

“I hear Paul Wight’s still talking trash” Shaq continued, referring to the AEW Dark: Elevation and former Big Show. “So I’m going to work out really hard this summer, and maybe we could do something very, very soon.”

“Last time it was due out of bureaucracy and red tape, now there is no red tape” Shaquille O’Neal added, discussing the previously planned Shaq vs Big Show match that didn’t happen in WWE.

“So, I’m going to go on because I’m still kind of sore from the table, so I’m going to go for it this summer, pump these muscles up here. I’ll be waiting for you, Mr. Paul,” Shaq concluded, teasing a huge match with the 7 foot plus AEW performer.

It has not been confirmed if AEW are planning on doing Shaq vs Big Show, however it would be a marquee bout and gain a lot of mainstream attention, so it is likely on the horizon.

It was reported back when Big Show/Paul Wight signed with AEW that a major reason was the chance to get a match with Shaquille O’Neal.
