It was revealed on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite that Tay Conti will now be going by a different name on All Elite Wrestling programming.
The company revealed on the show this week that Sammy Guevara and Tay are set to defend their AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship against Dante Martin & Skye Blue on the August 12th edition of Rampage this Friday.
AEW presented the graphics for this week’s matches, with the now former Conti now going by Tay ‘Melo.’
Tay Conti AEW Name Change
The AEW star’s full birth name is Taynara Melo de Carvalho, and in WWE she performed under the name Tayanara Conti before taking Tay Conti in AEW.
Incidentally, Conti was the surname of Tay’s ex-husband. It was revealed back in 2021 that the pair would had divorced, but Tay kept the name on television.
With Tay and Sammy Guevera getting married over the weekend, it seems as though the Brazilian star wants to put her former name behind her.
