AEW Revolution Main Event Exploding Barbwire Death Match Confirmed

Last updated

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a big six-man tag team match in the main event slot. Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix and Lance Archer teamed up to defeat The Butcher, The Blade and Eddie Kingston.

Following the match, The Good Brothers appeared and attacked Moxley, before Kenny Omega and Don Callis approached the ring. The AEW Champion Omega revealed to Jon Moxley that there will be a major stipulation to their match at AEW Revolution on March 7th.

The Cleaner Kenny Omega told Jon Moxley that they will be facing off in an Exploding Barbwire Death Match for the AEW Championship. With Moxley’s history in the likes of CZW and Japan? This plays right into his skill set.

This isn’t the first time that the two men face off in a hardcore style match. Back at Full Gear 2019, the two men clashed in a Lights Out match to finish that show. During that bout the two men fell onto a barbed wire structure from the entrance way; this appears to be a natural progression to the insanity!

The Exploding Barbwire Death Match is a staple of hardcore wrestling in Japan. The likes of Atushi Onita, Terry Funk, Mick Foley and Hayabusa are all major names to have appeared in the bout; with Moxley and Omega looking to bring back the magic of the FMW promotion classic.
