UFC Lightweight fighter Rafael dos Anjos has issued a challenge to fellow 155 pounder Justin Gaethje. The 30-13 MMA fighter returned to the Lightweight division back in November, gaining the split-decision victory over Paul Felder. dos Anjos also secured the ‘Fight of The Night’ plaudits for that bout.

Rafael dos Anjos is one of the almost ‘forgotten’ names on the 155 pound scene right now. With the UFC Lightweight division being the most stacked in the MMA world, RDA has put his name out there for a major fight with Justin Gaethje.

Gaethje’s manager Ali Abdelaziz recently stated on Twitter that “everyone in the top 5” is “running from Justin Gaethje.” RDA took exception to this, and said “guess who’s the highest ranking available? I’m on it. Send me the contract.”

Rafael dos Anjos vs Justin Gaethje

Justin Gaethje recently aired his displeasure publicly regarding the 155 pound division and how it stands.

’I woke up yesterday to train for a matchup with Chandler on May 15th expecting a bout agreement any moment’ Justin Gaethje wrote on Twitter back in March. ‘Today that is not the case, I don’t know what I do yet but I like this feeling. It was a good day at sparring practice.’

Gaethje even hinted that he may be considering leaving the UFC following the title fight ‘snub.’ ‘If I get disrespected, it’s gonna be hurtful’ Gaethje stated in a conversation with Full Reptile. ‘Because I really bought into what [Dana] talks about. So it’ll hurt, because I feel like I’ve been a company man from day one.’

A potential fight against Rafael dos Anjos however seems like it could equal fireworks. Here’s hoping they can get the deal done.
