Umar Nurmagomedov Reveals How Long He Will Be Out With Injury

Umar Nurmagomedov recently revealed that he will be needing to take a notable amount time away from the octagon. The promising Bantamweight fighter, and cousin of Khabib, revealed that he underwent surgery this week.

‘The doctors said the operation was a success” Umar Nurmagomedov wrote on Instagram. “6 months of rehabilitation ahead. Alhamdulillah [praise to God].’

The 25 year-old also revealed what the surgery was for, writing ‘#cruciateligament.

Nurmagomedov made his UFC debut back in January during UFC on ESPN 20 – Chiesa vs. Magny. Umar took the win with a Technical Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) in the second round.

Umar Nurmagomedov Out With Injury

Following the fight in January, Umar’s cousin Khabib had told the media that they wanted a quick turnaround. ‘It would be nice to have one more fight in Las Vegas this March” Khabib stated.

“If not ’“ we will fight after Ramadan” Khabib added. “We have plenty of time ahead of us. Umar is just 25. Two more fights this year would be perfect.’

At an Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC) event on Wednesday, Umar Nurmagomedov’s manager Rizvan Magomedov said that he hopes for a return in the summer, If everything goes well, then we’re looking at the end of the summer, start of autumn for [Umar’s next fight].’
