Braun Strowman WWE Profile

WWE Superstar Braun Strowman (real name Adam Scherr) was previously signed to the Monday Night RAW brand.

Born on September 6, 1983 in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, Strowman is now 39 years old.

Strowman began his WWE career in 2013, being assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Prior to this, Strowman was prolific in Strongman competitions, winning the 2012 Arnold Amateur Strongman Championships, earning him the right to appear in the 2013 Arnold Classic.

In 2014, Braun Strowman made appearances as part of Adam Roses’ Rosebuds on the Exotic Express. Strowman would make his pro wrestling debut on December 14 in NXT, defeating Chad Gable.

Braun Strowman would eventually make his main roster debut for WWE in 2015. On the August 24 episode of Monday Night RAW, Strowman appeared as the newest member of The Wyatt Family, alongside Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. Strowman would then have his first televised match against Dean Ambrose on the August 31 episode of RAW, defeating Ambrose via disqualification.

Shortly after, Strowman would appear in his first ever WWE PPV match. The Wyatt Family faced Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho at Night of Champions, with Strowman gaining the victory by choking out Jericho. Strowman then joined the rest of the stable to face The ECW Originals at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. The Wyatt Family defeated The Dudley Boyz, Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer in an eight man elimination tag team tables match.

The next year saw Braun Strowman make a massive statement in the Royal Rumble match. Strowman eliminated 5 opponents in the 2016 iteration of the match before being eliminated himself by Brock Lesnar. Strowman would return to the match and help his Wyatt Family members to eliminate The Beast Incarnate.

Strowman remained with the Wyatt Family until the 2016 WWE Draft, where he was moved to RAW and the remaining members stayed on SmackDown. Before Strowman was moved to RAW, he appeared in a WrestleMania 32 segment alongside Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and The Rock.

Strowman started his singles career on RAW in 2016, defeating a number of ’˜local’ competitors, including James Ellsworth. Strowman would also feud with Sami Zayn, which saw them go back and forth until January 2017 in a Last Man Standing match.

Braun Strowman appeared in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, however he was unsuccessful in the bout. Strowman would then feud with Roman Reigns for a number of months, having matches at the likes of WWE Great Balls of Fire. That contest was an Ambulance match, with Strowman winning the contest.

Braun would then go on to SummerSlam and a chance at winning the Universal Championship once again. Strowman challenged for Brock Lesnar’s title in a fatal four way match that was rounded out by Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe. After being unsuccessful, Strowman faced Lesnar again at No Mercy in September, again unable to capture the Universal Championship.

At WrestleMania 34, Strowman was involved in one of the strangest RAW Tag Team Championship matches in history. The Monster Among Men teamed with Nicholas, a child that he chose ’˜from the crowd’ to be his tag team partner at the event. The pair defeated Cesaro and Sheamus (The Bar) to win the titles without Nicholas actually having to get involved in the match itself. The duo had to vacate the titles due to scheduling conflicts for Nicolas, basically school, and Strowman moved back into the singles division after.

Strowman took part in a massive mainstream contest against boxer Tyson Fury as part of the Crown Jewel WWE PPV event in Saudi Arabia. Braun took part in a press conference before the match and would eventually lose to the Gypsy King via countout. Strowman laid out Fury after the match with a Running Powerslam to end their feud. The duo would then team at a SmackDown event to take on the B-Team (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas).

Braun Strowman also had an interesting run at the 35th iteration of WrestleMania, being part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. It was announced before the show that SNL hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che would be part of the match, and Strowman would eliminate Jost to win the contest.

Strowman was finally able to capture the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 at the WWE Performance Center. The Monster Among Men defeated Goldberg at the event in a match that had to be booked extremely late on in the build to the show. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Strowman was brought in to face the then Champion Goldberg; as expected challenger Reigns returned home as a precaution for his own health and family.

Braun Strowman entered the 2021 Royal Rumble match as the #30 entrant. The 2021 iteration of the event was the first ever to take place at the WWE ThunderDome and very likely the last. During the match, Strowman eliminated AJ Styles, Cesaro and Sami Zayn. Strowman would be eliminated by the eventual winner, Edge.
