Former WCW President and WWE star Eric Bischoff recently discussed CM Punk and a potential return to the company where he was once Champion.

Speaking on Steve Fall exclusively for WrestlingNewsco, Bischoff said that he doesn’t think Punk returning to the company is a good idea.

“I don’t think it would be [a good idea for Punk to go back to WWE]. I think CM Punk sh*t the bed. When Tony Khan brought CM Punk into AEW, he still had that mystique, the pipe bomb mystique” Bischoff began.

“He was this character that stood up to McMahon and then walked away. There’s a rebellious quality in that character that I think the average American admires. So Punk had this mystique and still had his fan base and Tony Khan was able to take advantage of that” Bischoff noted.

As of writing, it does not look like All Elite Wrestling will be allowing Punk to get out of the company anytime soon, with the Straight Edge star wanting his contract ‘bought out’ but Tony Khan seemingly not wanting to do so.
