Kevin Owens thinks Sami Zayn is the true best in the world.
The former Universal Champion’s career has been linked with Zayn since the beginning. Whether it be PWG, ROH, NXT or WWE’s main roster, Owens and Sami Zayn always find themselves sharing the ring doesn’t matter if it’s working against or with each other.
The true Best In The World
The duo probably had their biggest moment together when they won the Undisputed Tag Team Titles in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday earlier this year. Kevin Owens was asked about sharing the ring with Sami Zayn once again in an interview with James Williams. KO explained that Sami brings out the best in him:
“Well, you know, Sami brings out the best in me as an opponent and as a partner. It sounds exaggerated to say this, especially when people will call themselves that and it makes me roll my eyes a lot. Whether people call themselves great or good or even people say ‘I’m good at this. I’m great at that. I’m the best in the world.’ (I’m like) ‘Okay.’
“Sami Zayn, is probably the best I’ve ever been in the ring with. I don’t think I’m the only one who would say that. As far as the athletic side goes he can do it all. From a performance standpoint, from the intensity, the passion he brings, and the connection he has with the audience. Very few people have it all, like he does.”
Apart from the WrestleMania 39 win with Zayn, Owens also talked about his WrestleMania 38 match with Stone Cold Steve Austin. He ranked these as the top two moments of his wrestling career.
