Millions of people across the United States have been affected by the winter weather and WWE superstars are not any different. Talents of the company have been facing travel issues and it has affected WWE’s post-Christmas Holiday tour.
Mike Johnson of PWinsider provided some backstage news on the situation. He noted on Monday that the kick-off for the live event tour has been filled with travel headaches:
‘We are told that the kick-off for today’s Holiday Live tour, at least for the Smackdown side, included a lot of travel headaches for WWE talent and staff as flight issues led to some of them being delayed getting to New York City and others being sent to different airports than originally planned in order to salvage their travel issues.’
Two big names that ended up missing a live event from Columbus, Ohio on Monday were Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Rollins explained on Twitter that they couldn’t make it to the show because their tour bus broke down. Johnson provided some more updates:
‘We are told that the bus was actually in Iowa last weekend in advance of this weekend’s tour. Columbus would be a 9’“10-hour drive from Iowa, not factoring in the harsh weather conditions of the last week across the United States.’
Seth Rollins was originally scheduled to face the US champion Austin Theory in the main event of the Columbus show. In his absence, the match was changed to a triple threat cage match featuring Theory, Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano.
