WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair got a shocking reaction from the crowd at WWE Backlash 2023 in the opening match.
Belair defended her title against IYO SKY in the opening bout of the night, and the crowd in attendance was THROUGHLY behind the challenger.
Belair seemed shocked by the reaction at first as the crowd roundly booed every bit of offence that she hit on the Damage CTRL member. Conversely, Sky was cheered every time she even hinted at hitting a move of her own.

The nuclear crowd in Puerto Rico were behind the challenger from the opening bell, and it was a fantastic match between two of the very best on the WWE roster.
This is arguably the first time since her main roster debut that Belair has had to contend with a crowd turning on her, but she dealt with the situation perfectly and showed that she has a hell of a heel run in her at some point in the near future (hopefully).
If the crowd is able to keep up this level of excitement throughout the night then it could end up being one of the best WWE events of 2023, they’re really that hot.
