Brock Lesnar’s decision led to big Elimination Chamber change

WWE apparently had to change the finish of Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley match due a decision by The Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar is currently set to face Omos at WrestleMania 39. This match has been under a lot of scrutiny ever since it was first teased. There have even been reports that Vince McMahon is behind this bout.

Dave Meltzer recently talked about the whole situation on Wrestling Observer Radio. He expanded on the reports that Lesnar previously turned down a match against Bray Wyatt at Mania.

Elimination Chamber Change

Meltzer revealed that this was the reason why they changed the finish of the Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley match at Elimination Chamber:

‘Originally what was going to happen was Brock was beating Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber, and that was going to lead to Brock against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, and that’s why Bray Wyatt did that interview (calling out the winner). But after they did that, they had to change the finish.’

Bray Wyatt had cut a promo during the Elimination Chamber go-home episode of SmackDown on February 17. The Fiend had proclaimed that he would go after the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley match at the PLE.

At the show, however, Lashley won the match via disqualification, which led to a lot of confusion about Bray’s future. WWE ultimately decided to go with Wyatt vs Lashley at WrestleMania, leaving Brock free for a match against the Nigerian giant.
