Brock Lesnar In Talks To Return To WWE for SummerSlam Match

WWE have reportedly been having talks with Brock Lesnar regarding a return to the company. Lesnar has been absent from WWE programming since his loss to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 just over a year ago.

It’s been one of the longest periods in recent history without the ‘Beast Incarnate’ appearing on WWE; whether that be on PPV or RAW/SmackDown.

According to Fightful Select’s sources, WWE and Lesnar have actively been discussing a potential return to programming. Apparently WWE already has plans for a return, and are hoping that they can get him on-screen again ‘imminently.’

Brock Lesnar Returning at SummerSlam?

As we recently reported, WWE are looking at making SummerSlam this year a much bigger event than usual. SummerSlam is usually considered the second or third biggest event in WWE’s year, behind the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, however WWE are looking to stack the card as the restrictions with crowd levels will be dropped for SummerSlam in Las Vegas.

It’s also worth noting that there are rumors of a potential Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns match taking place at the show. Reigns is also being touted for a Universal Championship match with John Cena, but Lesnar would be one hell of a backup should the Cena deal not come to fruition.

Currently there is nothing official, and plans can always change within WWE. With live crowds now being brought back following the pandemic restrictions, WWE will need to pull out all of the star power that they have available. Some of the names they can look at are Lesnar, The Rock, Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, just to name a few.
