WWE released a number of NXT 2.0 Superstars this week, and a new report indicates that NXT officials were blindsided by the mass exodus.

A number of NXT stars who were involved in on-screen storylines were released by the company, including Dexter Lumis, Persia Perotta, Malcolm Bivens, Harland and Dakota Kai.

According to a report from Fightful Select, there is at least one NXT official who is frustrated at the situation, as changes will need to be made to current storylines without any prior warning.

“There was one NXT official that contacted us and expressed frustration that several angles, acts and stories were affected with little to no notice or preparation” Fightful revealed.

“We’ve spoken to several of the released stars who have been in good spirits, all things considered,” the site added.

It’s not currently known what WWE plans on doing with the storylines that are now affected. Dexter Lumis in particular was featured heavily alongside Indi Hartwell, so it was surprising that he was released.

It’s likely that the company will decide to just brush past these releases. Main players like Dakota Kai will likely just be forgotten whilst Indi Hartwell will probably just stop mentioning Lumis.
