The wrestling world is abuzz with excitement as WWE recently made a groundbreaking announcement: The Elimination Chamber 2024 will be hosted in Perth, Australia. This revelation has sent shockwaves throughout the WWE universe, but no one is more thrilled than Australia’s very own, Rhea Ripley.

Rhea Ripley, a prominent figure in WWE’s Judgment Day, couldn’t contain her excitement upon hearing the news. She expressed her immense pride in representing Australia every time she steps into the WWE ring.

For her, the decision to bring a Premium Live Event (PLE) to Perth is nothing short of a dream realised.

In her words in a recent WWE press release: “I’m beyond proud to represent Australia every single time I step inside a WWE ring and to bring a Premium Live Event to Perth is a dream come true. Get ready Australia, because Mami is coming home.”

A Significant Return for WWE

This announcement marks a significant milestone for WWE in Australia. The Elimination Chamber 2024 event, scheduled for Saturday, February 24th, 2024, will be held at the iconic Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia.

This isn’t just a regular event; it’s the first of its kind in Australia since 2018. To put things into perspective, the last major WWE event in Australia was the Super ShowDown, which took place in Melbourne in October 2018.

That event saw a staggering attendance of around 62,000 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Rhea Ripley and Australia’s Place in WWE’s Global Strategy

The decision to host the Elimination Chamber in Perth underscores WWE’s commitment to its fans in the Asia-Pacific region. Notably, this will be the only PLE in this region for the year 2024.

It’s a clear indication of WWE’s strategic move to expand its footprint and engage with its vast fan base in Australia and the surrounding areas.
