WWE LEGEND rumoured to have requested to be left OFF the WWE SummerSlam card

A WWE legend is rumoured to have requested to be left off of the WWE SummerSlam card which takes place in just a couple of weeks.

According to a new report/rumour from Tom Colohue on the Spoiler Warning YouTube show, Edge asked WWE management to be left off of the show in Detroit:

“There was a plan in place that would’ve seen Edge versus Grayson Waller at SummerSlam instead of what we ended up with…that being of course a match [on SmackDown] and a big debut for Grayson Waller.

“Edge had essentially been cut from SummerSlam to make room for other wrestlers, which is why Edge vs Grayson Waller happened earlier on SmackDown. It looks like this was also Edge’s choice rather than just a booking choice. Triple H is looking to trim down the card, and he was grateful to take the opportunity. It looks like Edge essentially requested, based on his personal schedule, to not work SummerSlam” Colohue claimed.

Edge WWE SummerSlam Rumours

It’s worth noting that these rumours from Tom Colohue are just that, rumours, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.

Edge not wanting to be on the card for personal reasons makes sense, and giving Waller the match at Madison Square Garden on SmackDown looks like it may have been a shrewd move.

We will hopefully be able to get more on this in the coming days, although it does look like the Rated-R Superstar may be off for a while.
