Sasha Banks made her debut at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event today, but her first move was a big botch.
The former WWE Superstar officially made her debut under the name Mercedes Mone, attacking Kairi Sane after her IWGP Women’s Championship title defence.
Banks, now Mone, claimed on the microphone that she was the CEO of the Women’s division in both New Japan and Stardom.

Mone would also challenge KAIRI for a match at the upcoming Battle in the Valley NJPW event in February.
As of writing, no other matches have been confirmed for the event, and it will be taking place at the Battle in the Valley event.
It’s interesting that Mone’s first match for New Japan will actually be taking place in the United States, as they’re clearly hoping to capitalise on her immense popularity in the west.
There is still no official word on whether or not she will be making her way to AEW next week, but if All Elite are able to get her for at least a one off that would be huge.
