Sasha Banks: WWE Superstar explains post-WrestleMania 37 absence

Last updated

WWE Superstar Sasha Banks recently made her return to WWE programming on SmackDown. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion had not been on television since her loss at WrestleMania 37 to Bianca Belair in the main event of night 1.

Speaking on Talking Smack, Sasha Banks confirmed why she had been away from television, specifically for the last run inside the WWE Thunderdome.

“What does it mean? I mean, I finally get my rematch,” Banks began, talking about her WWE SummerSlam 2021 rematch with Belair.

“I finally get my revenge on Bianca Belair. You know, for months I was sitting at home healing that wound that she did to me after she cheated with that braid,” Banks continued, explaining her absence from WWE programming in kayfabe.

“I would never drop that low if I was the champion. No, no, no, no. I brought people up,” Banks added. “Just like I brought Bianca up. Just like I helped her get an ESPY. Just like I helped her get all these accolades that she wants to claim that she’s the biggest star now.”

“She’s the EST of WWE? Well, I’m the Legit Boss, and I’m coming back for my SmackDown Women’s Championship,” Banks concluded.

Banks and Belair will be competing for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, and the RAW Women’s Championship will also be on the line when Nikki A.S.H defends against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley.
