It appears as though the two-night format for WrestleMania will be the norm going forward, at least according to recent reports.
Speaking on Sunday Night’s Main Event, Dave Meltzer revealed that those inside the company expect the concept to stay for the foreseeable future.
“I talked to people [in WWE] and they certainly gave me the impression that the idea is 2 days going forward,’ Meltzer began.
“They always can change their mind based on what happens. I think that they all thought that a 7-hour show just doesn’t work. That’s more tiring than the 2 days” Meltzer added.
“It’s just the nature of what WrestleMania has become. There’s more money to be made and it’s better for the shows” Meltzer concluded.
WrestleMania as a Two-Night Event
WrestleMania 39 will be taking place in 2023 from the new SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. It has not been confirmed if it will be a two-night event, but it is safe to assume that it will be.
The two-night format has been pretty successful for the company thus far, with the pandemic originally causing WrestleMania 36 to take place over two nights.
It seemed to happen due to a situation out of their hands, but two-night WrestleManias might actually be better going forward.
