Former WWE Superstar Batista is currently doing promotion for his upcoming Army of the Dead film, directed by Zack Snyder. Speaking during Zack Snyder’s Justice Con, Batista noted how he never plans on returning to the squared circle.
‘It’s hard to convince people that I’m actually retired,’ Batista began. ‘You have no idea how tough that discussion is. When professional wrestlers retire, they don’t really retire.”
“They kind of retire” Batista continued, “but, you know, when the paycheck’s big enough or the event’s big enough, they come out of retirement.”
‘It’s just not that way with me” The Animal continued. “I exited the business in such a storybook way, I’d never go back. So I would never take away from that. I am just done, man. I really got to finish on my own terms and nothing is going to take away from that.’
Batista on Retirement
Batista of course retired back at WrestleMania 35, following his match against Triple H. The Animal was meant to be part of the 2020 class of the Hall of Fame, however due to the event being rescheduled he could not appear in the ThunderDome in 2021.
Hopefully Batista will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at some point, likely when fans can be allowed back into arenas; so WrestleMania 38 in Dallas looks like a potential weekend to do it.
